Welcome to the West Virginia All State Band Website! This site also will serve as a communications link between the All State Band Chair, the Instrumental Music Educators of West Virginia and the West Virginia Bandmasters.

The 2019 West Virginia Music Educators Conference will be held March 7 - 9 in Charleston, WV. The 2019 WV All State Band Conductor is Dr. Jack Stamp, who currently serves as adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he teaches conducting.


8th Annual Band Director Clinic
sponsored by Phi Beta Mu and the WVBA Clinic to be held on Monday, Nov. 5
This year’s Phi Beta Mu Band Clinic will be held at the Creative Arts Center, on the Evansdale Campus of West Virginia University starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5. The Clinic remains a true bargain for quality professional development at only $25 for attendance. The morning, 9-12, will be various instrumental and conductor clinics. In the afternoon, 1:30-4:00, the Concert Band (filled by participants of the clinic on their respective instrument) will be conducted by composer, Mr. Samuel R. Hazo.  Discounted rooms are available on a first come first served basis for Sunday evening, November 4 and Monday evening, November 5. Just be sure to mention, when calling or email them,  that you are attending the annual band director clinic sponsored by Phi Beta Mu. Applications will be submitted to our office by the first class meeting.  Upon receipt of the application, we will process the admission and register the students.  We will then email the student directions for accessing their account and making payment online. 

Dropping the Course

Withdrawal and refund dates follow the WVU Calendar.  Course must be dropped prior to the course start date in the system.


The cost per credit hour is $73 or the cost for a three-credit hour course is $219.  A student cannot request a transcript until their account is paid in full.

Educational Tax Credit


WVU Online & Extended Campus professional development students whose tuition is waived based upon a third-party delivery/sponsorship of their course will not be assessed University Tuition on their student account.  Students will only be assessed University Fees which serves as a processing fee.  Processing fees are not considered a qualified educational expense and will therefore not be reported on a Form 1098-T for income tax credit purposes.
